Dr Qasim Akram

Consultant Rheumatologist & Course Director,

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, UK

Qasim is Course Director for the RUC and is a Consultant Rheumatologist based at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. He is an international fellowship trained EULAR Level 2 Ultrasound Instructor and has a wealth of experience using ultrasound in his day-to-day rheumatology practice. He is an active member of the British Society of Rheumatology (BSR) Ultrasound Special Interest Group (SIG). He teaches ultrasound regularly at an international, national (including BSR), and regional level. He is very passionate about delivering standardised high quality ultrasound training and enhancing the utilisation of ultrasound to enhance patient care amongst his peers in the North West region and throughout the UK.

Shubh is a fellowship fellowship-trained Consultant Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Radiologist at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. He has a keen interest in rheumatology imaging especially ultrasound and teaches at an international, national and regional level.

Anand is a fellowship trained Consultant MSK Radiologist at Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. He has a keen interest in rheumatology imaging and works alongside Consultant Rheumatologists to deliver a high-quality rheumatology ultrasound service. He is invited to teach ultrasound at rheumatology meetings on a regular basis.

Dr Sarang Chitale

Consultant Rheumatologist

Wrightington Hospital, Manchester, UK

Sarang is a fellowship trained Consultant Rheumatologist, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. He has been the lead for the BSR Ultrasound SIG for several years and has been responsible for organising and running BSR Ultrasound Courses. He holds an EFSUMB Level 3 Certification in Rheumatology Ultrasound at Wrightington has been recently recognised as a EULAR Centre for Ultrasound Imaging.

Dr Jagdish Nair

Consultant Rheumatologist

University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool, UK

Jagdish is a Consultant Rheumatologist. University Hospital Aintree. He is a very experienced ultrasound practitioner and holds EULAR Level 2 Instructor status. He teaches regularly at BSR National Ultrasound Courses and is an active member of the BSR US SIG. He is a very popular tutor and receives excellent feedback.

Since then, she has continuously pursued opportunities for professional development and specialization. Lisa’s dedication to advancing her skills led her to successfully attain a post-graduate diploma in Upper Limb Orthopaedics and Trauma, further honing her expertise in this specialized area of practice.

Driven by her passion for excellence and her commitment to staying at the forefront of her field, Lisa is currently undertaking her Masters in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.
